BOSCO TRIUMPH OVER GLASDRUMMAN

St. John Bosco 1-11 Glasdrumman 0-13

Glasdrumman headed to Newry on Friday evening determined to get their last game out of the system, but with an understrength team they were unlucky to lose out to an energetic Bosco team.

Glasdrumman's first scores came from Conaire Harrison and Mark Trimble but Bosco were already ahead with a goal and point by the tenth minute. Two further points from Connaire Harrison, one from a free, levelled the game before Ronan McDowell made a good save with Bosco in on goal again. A fourth point from another free kick by Connaire Harrison had Glasdrumman ahead only for Labhras McAlinden to equalise with a point immediately. Glasdrumman appeared to be gaining the upper hand and points apiece from James McDowell and Pat Mallon put them two ahead with only five minutes to half time. However, Niall Tumilty had other ideas and three points from him edged Bosco ahead again by one, only for Connaire Harrison to put over his fifth point of the half to leave the half time score St. John Bosco 1-5 Glasdrumman 0-8.
The second half started as the first finished, Niall Mullen sent over a point to edge Bosco ahead, only for Connaire Harrison to equalise again six minutes later. Bosco then went two ahead with points from Niall Conlon and Colm Keenan midway through the half and again it was Connaire Harrison who replied with three almost identical points to edge Glasdrumman ahead again with ten minutes remaining. Bosco levelled the game almost immediately, and as the game entered the final five minutes Niall Tumilty put over another free kick to put Bosco ahead yet again. Connaire Harrison dragged Glasdrumman level with his tenth score of the game with only three minutes remaining. Just as the game appeared to be heading for a draw, again it was Niall Tumilty who sent over a free kick to put Bosco ahead. Glasdrumman still had time for a couple of chances to level the game, but the game ended with the score St. John Bosco 1-11 Glasdrumman 0-13.
